Robert wrote the lyrics on a bus journey after receiving an instrumental from Gareth Shortland. Robert told us: “The chaotic energy of the instrumental called for a lyric with a sense of urgency, so I decided this would be a song about the clock we all hear ticking in our minds, and the idea that at a certain point, we all consider crossing over to the dark side to get what we want!”
