Last Christmas was released on 3 December 1984 on a double A-side with Everything She Wants, and is taken from Wham!’s third studio album, Music From The Edge Of Heaven (1986).

The single spent five weeks at Number 2 that year, pipped to the UK Official Christmas Number 1 by Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas?. It wasn’t until 2020 that Last Christmas finally claimed Number 1 on the UK Official Singles Chart – 36 years after its release – and broke a new Official Chart record for the longest time taken for a single to reach Number 1!
