Chances was released on 28 December 1988 as Roxette’s first international single and from their second studio album, Look Sharp! (1988).

The song was written by Per Gessle, and it failed to chart in any of the countries where it was released. It was followed two weeks later by ‘The Look’, which became their breakthrough international hit.
