The song was written by Siobhan Fahey, Richard Feldman and Marcy Levy.

The single was also known as ‘Break My Heart (You Really)’ and was released in most countries as a Double A-side with ‘Heroine’, which according to Siobhan Fahey, was to “give a more rounded picture of what I’m about”.
